GREENBELT, Md. — A federal judge sentenced Isaiah Poole, 25, of Suitland, to 25 years in federal prison for producing child sexual abuse material after he used Snapchat to sextort at least six girls between the ages of 9 and 14, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland announced.
U.S. District Judge Lydia Kay Griggsby ordered 20 years of supervised release to follow the prison term. According to court documents, Poole posed as a teenage girl on Snapchat and other social media platforms, manipulating victims into sending sexually explicit photographs and videos — often under the ruse of playing truth or dare. He directed the minors to expose their genital areas and engage in sexual conduct.
When victims told Poole they no longer wished to send images, he threatened to distribute the material to their families and friends. Prosecutors said he carried out that threat with images from at least two of the minors. U.S. Attorney Kelly O. Hayes announced the sentence alongside Special Agent in Charge Jimmy Paul of the FBI’s Baltimore Field Office.
The case was prosecuted under Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative the Department of Justice launched in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Alex Treiger and Brooke Oki handled the prosecution, with investigative assistance from the Maryland State Police and the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Separately, a second Maryland man pleaded guilty the same day to federal child sex abuse charges in a distinct case. Mark Travis Brigham, 36, of Mount Airy, admitted that between September 2023 and August 2024 he persuaded, induced, enticed, and coerced three minor females to engage in sexually explicit conduct, using his cellphone to produce images and videos of the victims.
Investigators executed a search warrant at Brigham’s Mount Airy residence on Aug. 6, 2025, seizing a tablet, a digital camera with an SD card, two cellphones, 35 firearms, ammunition, and a magazine. Examination of the devices uncovered the child sexual abuse material files. U.S. Attorney Hayes announced the guilty plea alongside Special Agent in Charge Akil Baldwin of Homeland Security Investigations in Maryland, Frederick County Sheriff Charles A. Jenkins, and Frederick County State’s Attorney J. Charles Smith III.
Brigham faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years and a maximum of 30 years in federal prison for sexual exploitation of a minor, plus a maximum of 10 years for possession of child sexual abuse material. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
